Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rejected the notion on Monday that the Israeli raid on the Freedom Flotilla was indicative of Tel Aviv’s military muscle, explaining further that it was a mere symbol of its weakness.

President Ahmadinejad said Israel was „fabricated not only with the aim of gaining control over the Middle East but also over the entire world.“

Calling for international efforts to save the Palestinian nation, the Iranian president said, „Supporting the people of Palestine is equal to supporting peace and freedom of every nation .“

Seyed Hossein Mousavian, Islamic Republic of Iran´s former ambassador to Germany and leading nuclear negotiator is reportedly living in the United States and working as a research fellow at Princeton University. Before him, many other Iranian high ranking officials have been reincarnated as scholars at prestigious institutions of higher education in the United States.

Kurdistan-Iran: Two Weeks after General Strike

The government continues to summon and threaten bazaari merchans, arrest activists and fuel speculation that it would carry out death sentences for other political prisoners two weeks after the execution of Kurdish political prisoners and the ensuing general strike in Kurdistan. While in an interview with Rooz last Saleh Nikbakht, who represents several Kurdish political prisoners, said that “a reversal by an appellate court was the only way to prevent Habibollah Latifi’s execution,” in another interview last night he denied reports that Mr. Latifi has been scheduled for execution on June 27. He also announced “major changes” in the case of Adnan Hassanpour, the imprisoned Kurdish journalist. A relative of Mokhtar Houshmand, a Kurdish artist currently behind bars, said in a short interview with Rooz that “he has been transferred to Sanandaj’s intelligence ministry detention facility.”

Verhandlungen gescheitert?

Das iranische Regime steht jedenfalls der hilflosen westlichen Nicht-Antwort auf sein Atomprogramm bisher immer noch regelrecht zynisch gegenüber. Ein iranischer Parlamentarier beruhigte Kritiker der Vereinbarung mit dem Hinweis, es handele sich nur um eine »Erklärung«, nicht um einen Vertrag. Man habe ja gar nichts Verbindliches vereinbart.

Damit ist der Kreis geschlossen. Der reale Wert der türkisch-brasilianisch-iranischen Vereinbarungen tendiert gegen Null. Wenn man die Verlautbarung ernst nähme, käme es auf die Details an. Ungefähr so wie im vergangenen Jahr, als der Iran so tat, als wolle er über ein im Grunde schon beschlossenes Abkommen nur noch ein bißchen weiter verhandeln. Und weiter. Und weiter. Zumindest, so lange das Regime überhaupt noch weiter existiert. Oder bis es endlich seine Atombombe hat. Ob es dann noch etwas zu verhandeln geben wird, ist fraglich.

Powell: Obama’s Iran Sanctions Not Strong Enough

Powell explained that he doesn’t believe the sanctions will push the Iranians to change their behavior.

“I don’t see that this causes sufficient pain that will cause them to say, ‘gee, why didn’t we realize we were so off on this and we’re going to stop all of our nuclear program?’ The nuclear program is there.  It’s operating.  And I don’t think they’re going to give it up easily,” Powell said.

“I think we may have to eventually reach a point where we say, well, maybe we have to accept a nuclear program that’s designed strictly for power generation and for their medical research reactor,” he said.

Iranian Majlis Member: Russia Supplied Iraq with Materials to Produce Chemical Weapons for Use against Iran

Against the backdrop of the current tension between Iran and Russia, a member of the Majlis national security committee, Heshmatollah Falahat-Pisheh, stated that during the Iran-Iraq war, Moscow had provided Iraq with supplies to produce chemical weapons for use against Iran.
He also referred to the Kremlin’s disdainful response to the complaint of the Iranian president about Russia’s lack of support for the Tehran Declaration, calling it „a hasty move,“ and urged Russia not to sacrifice its long-standing interests vis-à-vis Iran for the sake of „a short-term political game“ with the U.S.

Iranian Daily: Obama’s Strategy – A Continuation of Bush’s Policy

The daily Jomhouri-ye Eslami stated that the national security strategy presented by Obama on May 28, 2010 is nothing but an attempt to perform „plastic surgery on America’s scarred face,“ and is in fact a continuation of Bush’s policy.
The daily also said that Obama’s deception aims to deal with the criticism against him over his failures in the economic and international arenas.

Turkish PM says West unfair, insincere in Iran row: report

ANKARA (AFP) – Turkey’s prime minister Saturday accused Western powers of lacking a „fair and sincere“ approach on Iran in a mounting row over a nuclear swap deal with Tehran, Anatolia news agency reported.

Speaking to Turkish journalists during a visit to Brazil, Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated criticism of the West for staying mum on Israel, widely believed to be the Middle East’s sole if undeclared nuclear power, Anatolia reported.

Without naming the Jewish state, he said: „You do not show the same approach here but you stir up the world concerning Iran. I do not see this as a fair, honest and sincere approach.“

KABUL (Reuters) – Afghan insurgents are being trained inside Iran and given weapons to fight security forces, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces said on Sunday, joining a rising drumbeat of criticism of Iran’s role in the country.

General Stanley McChrystal said coalition forces were working to stop Iran from giving material help to the Taliban who have stepped up the campaign to force foreign forces out of Afghanistan in a nine-year conflict.

„The training that we have seen occurs inside Iran with fighters moving inside Iran,“ he said at a news conference in response to a question on Iran’s influence. „The weapons that we have received come from Iran into Afghanistan.“

Execution of Kurds Arouses Unprecedented Sympathy

The hasty execution of five Iranian political dissidents, four of them Kurds, has sparked unprecedented support for their cause including a one-day strike that shut down much of the country’s Kurdistan province.
National opposition leaders also protested, even though the Kurdish case has never gathered much backing in the rest of Iran in the past, partly because they were suspected of wanting a separate state.
Kurds, an ethnic group without a state spread across Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq, make up about eight per cent of Iran’s 74 million populations.

Wir fordern Sie deshalb auf den Besuch des iranischen Außenministers aus Protest abzusagen. A gap

“The roots of th(e Green) movement in the past are in the historical gap between the majority of the people who want democracy, and a minority who want Iran to be ruled by a religious dictatorship,” he says. “This [gap] and the incapability of the regime in solving the basic problems of the society, including economic issues, and the fact that Iranian leaders did not keep their promises that clerics would not interfere in politics — all of these factors will also guarantee the continuation of this movement until it reaches its demand. Drohungen, Drohungen, Wahn

Manchmal wacht Mahmoud morgens auf und streckt sich knackend aus. Danach sagt er sich: Ich bin doch der Führer der fast schon mächtigsten Supermacht aller Zeiten, wem könnte ich denn heute mal drohen?

Nun, gestern waren die Russen dran, die müssen für ihre potentielle Zustimmung zu dem neuen Sanktionsentwurf büßen; und ihre Luftabwehrrakten haben sie auch immer noch nicht geliefert. Vielleicht hat ein Berater Mahmoud allerdings schnell zugeflüstert, daß es eigentlich gar nichts gibt, womit der Iran den Russen drohen könnte; und außerdem seien sie doch gewissermaßen Verbündete, die man womöglich noch brauche, man habe so wenige davon: Jedenfalls ahnt Mahmoud, daß der Russe dann doch nicht so ein schreckhaftes und willfähriges Weichei wie der Westeuropäer ist, also darf der Russe es sich auch noch einmal überlegen. Wie Mahmoud überhaupt der Welt noch einmal eine Chance gibt.  Aber es ist die letzte, sagt er.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned that Russia’s stance against the Tehran declaration could turn it into an „enemy“ of the Iranian nation.
„Russian leaders should not create a situation that makes Iranian people place Russia in the ranks of their historic enemies,“ Ahmadinejad said in a speech in Kerman on Wednesday.
His comments came in response to Russia’s decision to back a US-proposed UN Security Council resolution against Iran.

„Today, it has become difficult for us to explain [Russian President Dmitry] Medvedev’s behavior to the Iranian nation. The [Iranian] people don’t know whether they [Russian officials] are our friends or are after something else,“ the Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
„If I were the Russian president, when taking decisions on subjects related to the great Iranian nation, I would think things through more,“ he said.
The Iranian president also warned the US to be careful not to miss the opportunity offered by the Tehran nuclear swap declaration.

Ahmadinejad said the declaration brokered by Turkey and Brazil could be the last chance to get things right.

Spricht Mahmud Ahmadinejad im Ausland, so kommen einem Zweifel an seiner geistigen Zurechnungsfähigkeit – etwa wenn der iranische Präsident zum Besten gibt, in seinem Land gebe es keine Homosexuellen, oder wenn er behauptet, wie jüngst im amerikanischen Fernsehen, der Terroristenchef bin Ladin habe Unterschlupf in Washington gefunden. Aber eines muss man diesem Politiker lassen: Im diplomatischen Schachspiel erweist er sich als raffinierter Taktiker, der seinen Kontrahenten Mal für Mal den Meister zeigt. Die am Montag von Iran mit Brasilien und der Türkei unterzeichnete Deklaration zur Atompolitik hat dies erneut bestätigt. Als Ahmadinejad mit seinen Amtskollegen Lula da Silva und Erdogan wie ein siegreicher Sportler die Hände jubelnd emporstreckte, so hatte er allen Grund dazu: Ihm war ein diplomatischer Coup geglückt, der ihm im Atomstreit mit dem Westen einen weiteren Zeitgewinn verhiess.

Wenn vom islamischen Terrorregime im Iran hoffentlich bald nichts mehr übrig ist, so starben die letzten Lügen, auf denen es gebaut war, in den vergangenen 12 Monaten. Noch am Abend der Präsidentschaftswahl am 12. Juni 2009 hatte der „oberste geistige Führer“ der „Islamischen Republik Iran“, der 70-jährige Ali Khamenei, den von ihm favorisierten Kandidaten Mahmud Ahmedinedschad zum Wahlsieger erklärt – die Auszählung der Stimmen abzuwarten hielt Khamenei dabei für unnötig.

Mit der offensichtlichen Wahlfälschung hatte die Herrschaftsclique um Khamenei und Ahmedinedschad eine Grenze überschritten.

Die Deutsch-Iranische Handelskammer hat allen Grund zu jubeln:

Iran Exporte wachsen um 48%

Allen politischen Schwierigkeiten zum Trotz entwickeln sich die Deutsch-Iranischen Wirtschaftsbeziehungen sehr positiv. Durch den starken Anstieg im Monat März um 48% liegen die Deutschen Exporte auch in den ersten drei Monaten des Jahres 2010 mit 920 Mio. Euro um 15% über dem Vergleichszeitraum des Jahres 2009. Bemerkenswert sind auch die Iranischen Exporte nach Deutschland, die sich von Januar bis März 2010 gegenüber dem Vorjahr fast verdoppelt haben.

Mahmud immer beliebter

Kurz vor dem Jahrestag der gefälschten Wahlen liegen die Massen dem Präsidenten mehr denn je zu Füßen:

So eine Situation hat Mahmud Ahmadinedschad in der Heimat selten erlebt: Der iranische Präsident wurde bei einer öffentlichen Rede immer wieder durch Zwischenrufe aus dem Publikum unterbrochen. Die wütenden Zuhörer beklagten sich über die hohe Arbeitslosigkeit im Land.

Chorramschahr – Drei Wochen vor dem ersten Jahrestag der umstrittenen Präsidentenwahl in Iran hat Präsident Mahmud Ahmadinedschad die Unzufriedenheit des Volkes ungewohnt direkt zu spüren bekommen. Bei einer Rede in der Stadt Chorramschahr im Südwesten des Landes wurde er am Montag mehrfach unterbrochen. „Wir sind arbeitslos“ riefen etliche unter den Hunderten von Zuhörern.

Gates: Iran Sanctions Could Lead to Policy Change

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the draft United Nations Security Council resolution on sanctions against Iran is stronger than he expected, and if nations follow through with even stronger steps of their own, it could help convince Iran to change its nuclear policy.

Studentenproteste

A protest gathering was held today at the Central branch of Azad University in Tehran. The website „Daneshjoonews,“ which covers issues related to Iran’s student movement, has posted a video of the protest in which students are singing a protest song.

A student activist who did not want to be named told RFE/RL that Basij forces at the university attacked protesting students and injured several of them. He said students were chanting „Death to the Dictator“ and „Ya Hossein, Mir Hossein.“ „Daneshjoonews“ reports that some were also calling for the release of their jailed colleagues. According to the website, several hundreds students took part in the protest.

Last week two student leaders, Bahareh Hedayat and Milad Assadi, were sentenced to heavy prison terms in what has been described by observers as an attempt by the Iranian establishment to intimidate students ahead of the June 12 anniversary of last year’s disputed presidential vote.

Kalemeh claims that journalist and filmmaker Mohammad Nourizad has been severely beaten by guards at Evin Prison. According to the website, Nourizad was taken from his cell by five security personnel and has suffered concussion and vision problems. He has now started a complete hunger strike in protest.

Alireza Avaee, the Chief Officer for the Ministry of Justice, has announced that a “new” and “good” prison has opened near the Kahrizak facility, infamous for post-election abuses and killing of detainees.

So gerade der Geheimdienstmann Ali Vakili Rad, der 1991 bei Paris an der Abschlachtung des letzten Premiers des Schahs, Schapur Bachtiars und seines Sekratärs  – die Tat wurde mit Küchenmessern ausgeführt -, beteiligt war.
