Senior U.S. Official: Negotiating With A Weakened Iran Is More Difficult
A senior U.S. official told the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that no agreement has yet been reached regarding the date of the meeting with Iranian representatives during the U.N. General Assembly this month.
A U.S. official close to the nuclear issue said that the weakening of Iran following its election crisis makes negotiating with it more difficult.
European officials said that they are open to the possibility that Iran will continue to enrich uranium as part of a comprehensive solution and under full International Atomic Energy Agency oversight.

The pro-Mousavi Green Popular Movement is distributing a flyer in Tehran asking people to attend a demonstration on July 25 called „We’ll Turn The Coup Government’s Inauguration Ceremony into a Ceremony of Revocation* of its National Legitimacy.“
Dozens were arrested at a mass pro-Mousavi demonstration in Tehran on July 21, during which shouts of „Death to the Dictator“ and „Ahmadinejad, Step Down!“ were heard.
