Langsam scheint Mahmoud alles egal: jetzt kommt die offene Erpressung

Natürlich sind verschleppte Ausländer nichts als Verhandlungsmasse für die Islamische Republik. Ob Segler oder Wanderer, oder eben eine junge französische Lehrerin, die man an der Passkontrolle abgreift. Wer Bürger eines Staates ist, mit dem der Iran gerade ein Problem hat, sollte sich der iranischen Grenze nicht auf 5 oder besser 50 Kilometer nähern. All diese „Grenzverletzungen“ und absurden Spionagevorwürfe haben nur den einen Zweck: politische Erpressung. Und jeder weiß das natürlich. Die Iranische Republik verhält sich damit bloß als der mafiöse Verbrecherstaat, der sie ist. Ein Umstand, der die Protestnoten und Berufungen auf  „internationale Normen“, die die Islamische Republik, so gerne absondert, immer etwas surreal erscheinen läßt. So absolut normenverachtend sich dieses Regime verhält, so beleidigt ist es ja selbst  in Penetranz.

Und alle wissen das, und alle spielen mit. Aber das ist ein neuer Höhepunkt an Dreistigkeit:

Dickering Over Uranium  – Tehran should love the U.S. offer on enrichment

WSJ – One sign that an adversary isn’t serious about negotiating is when it rejects even your concessions. That seemed to be the case yesterday when Iran gave signs it may turn down an offer from Russia, Europe and the U.S. to let Tehran enrich its uranium under foreign supervision outside the country. The mullahs so far won’t take yes for an answer.

(…) Iran may also welcome the Russian-enriched uranium because its own technology is less advanced. The October 8 edition of the trade journal Nucleonics Week reports that Iran’s low-enriched uranium appears to have „impurities“ that „could cause centrifuges to fail“ if Iran itself tried to enrich uranium to weapons-grade—which would mean above 20% and ideally up to 90%. In this scenario, the West would be decontaminating the uranium for Iran. Along the way, Iranian scientists may also pick up clues on how to do better themselves. (…)

A Hitch in Iran’s Nuclear Plans?

Washingtonpost, by David Ignatius — Since you’re probably not a regular reader of the trade publication Nucleonics Week, let me summarize an article that appeared in its Oct. 8 issue. It reported that Iran’s supply of low-enriched uranium — the potential feedstock for nuclear bombs — appears to have certain „impurities“ that „could cause centrifuges to fail“ if the Iranians try to boost it to weapons grade.

Now that’s interesting. The seeming breakthrough in negotiations on Oct. 1 in Geneva — where Iran agreed to send most of its estimated 1,500 kilograms of low-enriched uranium abroad for further enrichment — may not have been exactly what it appeared. Iran may have had no alternative but to seek foreign help in enrichment because its own centrifuges wouldn’t work.  more here…

Germany and France Take Hard Line on Iran

(NY Times) On the eve of the publication of a report on Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and President Nicolas Sarkozy of France have threatened tough new sanctions if Tehran does not show a willingness to negotiate on its nuclear program.

At a news conference in Berlin on Thursday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Mrs. Merkel dangled the possibility of new penalties against Iran in the energy and financial sectors. “If there is no positive answer by September we will have to consider further measures,” she said, the Reuters news agency reported.

The United States has given Iran until September to give up nuclear enrichment in return for talks on economic incentives or face tougher sanctions.

Press TV: Diplomatic sources in Paris say relations with Tehran will not change after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad takes office for a second time.
Ties between Paris and Tehran would continue as before, and contacts with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are likely to remain unchanged, French diplomatic sources told AKI, according to a report posted by the Italian news agency.
“French officials will most likely continue relations in the next phase during Ahmadinejad’s second term,“ she said, pointing out that France would maintain contacts with Iran and receive Iranian envoys.
„France recognizes states, not governments…“ one of the sources was quoted as saying in the Monday report.

Was hat er denn nun gesagt, der französische Außenminister? Vielleicht das: France will recognize Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s re-election as president . It would be „useless“ for France alone to reject Ahmadinejad’s re-election as he has been proclaimed winner of the election, the foreign minister said. Wäre eine seltsame und schlimme Meldung. Das darf doch nicht wahr sein! Beim Chinesen steht es jedenfalls, und nochmal, hier auch. Von France Press soll es kommen. Informationssumpf Internet.

Eine umgehende, unterstützenswerte Antwort von einem Iraner: If indeed Mr. Kouchner said what we think he said, we will start sanctions on all French goods and products, starting with Air France.

The Iranian people strongly condemn France’s position on surrendering to Islamofascists in Iran who are holding peaceful Iranians as hostage. This is clearly against all norms of human dignity. With this recognition, there comes a price. It would perhaps make France an accessory to the crimes committed by the murderous mullahs in Iran. They will be facing a severe boycotting on all French products by the Iranians, inside and outside the country, and hopefully by all decent human beings…

Aber was hat er denn gesagt, der Bernard Kouchner? Klärt uns Press TV auf? Wäre das nicht seltsam?

Frankreichs Präsident Nicols Sarkozy fordert den israelischen Ministerpräsidenten Benjamin Netanyahu bei einem Treffen auf, sich seines Außenminister Avigdor Lieberman zu entledigen. Wo bleiben die Kommentatoren, die sich über eine solche Einmischung in die inneren Angelegenheiten eines Staates empören? Sind Aussagen von Sarkozy bekannt, in denen er die Menschen im Iran auffordert, Khamenei, Ahmadinedschad und das ganze Mullah-Pack loszuwerden? Oder vergleichbare Aussagen gegenüber den Libyern, deren Staatschef sich Sarkozy bekanntermaßen ja gerne hofiert?
