Aufspringende Züge mit kleiner Verspätung

Das hätten wir eigentlich früher und entschiedener von ihr erwartet. Kann sie sich noch zu etwas mehr Entschlossenheit durchringen?

Nobel laureate says Siemens and Nokia help Iran regime

PARIS (AFP) – Nobel prizewinner Shirin Ebadi on Tuesday accused German engineering giant Siemens and Finnish telecoms firm Nokia of supplying Iran with technology to help it suppress democratic dissent.

Speaking on France Culture radio, the exiled Iranian feminist and 2003 Nobel peace laureate, said Western firms are undermining opposition to Tehran’s authoritarian regime and called for international economic sanctions.

„Unfortunately, a certain number of firms support the Iranian regime in its repression and censorship,“ she said.

And now the cowardly woman-hating, freedom-crushing creeps and bullies who pass for a regime in Iran (may the nuclear laboratories they lie about blow up in their faces) have stolen the symbol of something they could never hope to aspire to, indeed even understand in their evil ignorant fanaticism. They’re nothing more than scummy crooks degrading religious piety everywhere with their travesty of it.

No it wasn’t as bad as the murder, rape and torture of dissidents they perpetrated during the “Green Revolution” against the stolen election: it was a symbolic crime. Steal an election, steal a Nobel Prize, steal the life and soul of their people. But symbolic crimes are another symptom of the fascist theocratic mind of these shameful, subhuman butchers.

I don’t think this symbolic crime should be allowed to pass unnoticed. I think it deserves at the very least a high profile shaming, symbolic response. I think Obama should offer Shirin Ebadi refuge and protection in America from a regime that will not stop at symbolic crimes against her.

And he should return his Nobel to the Norwegians and declare that he will not take possession until of it again until the Iranians give Shirin Ebadi’s back. Not that they would be likely to do it, not that they show any evidence of the ability to feel shame. But they should be isolated like the moral lepers they are.

Shirin Ebadi, an Iranian human rights advocate and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, said in an AP interview that Washington is mistaken in insisting that it would be intolerable for Iran to have nuclear weapons.

„Just as the world tolerates North Korea and Pakistan it would have to tolerate Iran as well,“ she said.

Like other Western European countries, Norway is concerned only about its own welfare and that of the Continent. The Nobel Peace Prize is one means by which they have made their policies attractive to others. For example, in 2003, the prize was given to an unknown Iranian woman for her unknown human-rights activities in Iran, even as many important women were wasting away inside the regime’s prisons. (One such woman is the world-renowned Iranian poet Simin Behbahani, whose collection of poetry on human rights has been translated into many languages.)

Und dabei plädiert Frau Ebadi eher für einen zurückhaltenderen Kurs gegenüber der iranischen Führung, was z.B Sanktionen betrifft.

Wenn Sie den Text durchlesen werden Sie feststellen, dass die iranischen Staatsmedien wieder das sattsam bekannte Spielchen aufziehen – sämtliche Vorgänge mit anderen weltweit in Beziehung setzen, auch wenn die Vergleiche haarsträubend sind -, und ein gewisser Gerichtsprozess in Deutschland muss natürlich auch wieder herhalten.

Die iranische Friedensnobelpreisträgerin Shirin Ebadi hat die Regierung in Teheran wegen der Menschenrechtsverletzungen nach der Wahl kritisiert. Iranische Medien haben sie für ihre Äußerungen in Bonn heftig angegriffen.

Drei Tage lang hielt sich die iranische Friedensnobelpreisträgerin und Menschenrechtlerin Shirin Ebadi als Gast bei der Deutschen Welle in Bonn auf. In einer Pressekonferenz und zahlreichen Mediengesprächen kritisierte sie die iranische Regierung wegen der Menschenrechtsverletzungen nach den Wahlen. Ihre Äußerungen wurden in zahlreichen deutschen Sendern ausgestrahlt und vielen Zeitungen gedruckt. Auch im Iran wurde Ebadis Besuch bei der Deutschen Welle beobachtet.
